I will stamp all over 'legitimate fighter' Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer will face the American YouTuber in an eight-round fight which will be broadcast live on the streaming platform.

British boxer Anthony Joshua said he will "overwhelm entirely" the American and "overpower" his opponent as the pair met personally to build hype for next month's bout.

Former two-time world heavyweight champion Joshua battles YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, on paper, a massive disparity - at Miami arena on 19 December.

Fighter's Attitude

"I will damage his features and hurt his body. I'm here to prove I'm superior," the British boxer, 35, stated.

"I will dominate him completely. That's the boxer's mindset.

"I intend to genuinely try to cause him pain. That's my intention."

Civil Exchange

Despite such comments, a composed Anthony Joshua and internet personality Paul - usually recognized for his showmanship - shared friendly words and maintained decorum with each other.

Paul instead targeted ex Joshua's opponent the Cameroonian fighter and called him "ridiculous" after the Cameroonian declined a match opportunity.

Targeting Fury

Joshua, meanwhile, targeted UK opponent Tyson Fury - and rejected a large bet 'The Gypsy King' says he will place on a victory for Paul.

"Jake Paul outshines Tyson Fury - he's actually sitting here," the boxer said.

"I give him credit for that."

Serious Opponent

In spite of saying he intends to damage his opponent, Joshua chose not to talk badly about his rival's boxing ability.

"Jake Paul is a legitimate boxer," he remarked.

Paul's History

Paul - who first rose to fame on the television network - has primarily boxed MMA fighters or past-their-prime fighters since becoming pro.

He lost to Briton Tommy Fury in 2023.

Financial Attraction

Nevertheless, the novice remains one of the sport's greatest financial successes, regularly earning huge financial rewards.

Forecast and Confidence

The 28-year-old predicted a stoppage in round four or five and stated he would stop the highly-expected Joshua–Fury fight, which is apparently in the works for 2026.

"The next fight will be me versus Tyson Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul said.

Size Disparity

As both boxers engaged in the traditional confrontation, with their size difference clearly visible, it drove home just how surprising this whole event is - and how astonishing it is that the match is truly happening.
